The initial velocity of the shell fired from this gun was up to 870 m / s. The cannon was capable of firing a projectile weighing up to 885 kilograms over a maximum distance of approximately 42,200 meters. It is worth adding that the barrel length of this gun was 50 calibers, i.e. 19.05 meters. Italian naval cannon Cannone da 381/50 Ansaldo M1934 caliber 381 mm was developed at the Ansaldo and OTO Melara factories for the use of the Italian Regia Marina, and more specifically - the Italian battleships of the Vittorio Veneto class (also known as Littorio). Each of the battleships carried 9 such guns in three-gun turrets. It is assumed that a total of 40 cannon barrels were built for these guns, but none of them has survived to this day. Assume that the rate of fire of these guns was from 1.8 to 2 rounds per minute, which was at least a good result.
